Exploring Art and Cooking at HISV Summer School 2024.

One of the most interesting subjects at our HISV Summer School is art. Here, the children use their creativity while enjoying the team work of working with friends, old and new, in the classroom.

The activities in this art lesson include drawing pictures based on the theme of the ocean. The children used their imagination to think about what lies beneath the vast ocean before drawing and colouring onto paper to produce colourful masterpieces. They then wrote sentences describing their ocean creatures using the correct parts of speech. All the children’s work are then displayed for parents to see and enjoy.

Another fun and creative activity involves children working together to design an appetising food menu for their bake sale.

The children worked cheerfully, putting their imagination to the test to create tasty and creatively designed foods. After cooking is finished, they then came together to ‘buy and sell’ their products at the bake sale using fake money. This activity enhanced the children’s maths understanding about the importance of using money, giving and receiving the correct change.

All the children learned while having fun.
